Regular Season Football is over

For the secondary s= chools in our area the regular season play has ended and now it's ti= me for the playoffs. (My international readers will keep in mind this i= s American Football, not what you call Football but we call Soccer. 🙂 <= img WIDTH=3D"15%" ALT=3D"what a football looks like" ALIGN=3D"right" SRC= =3D"http://images.free-extras.com/pics/r/rawlings_football-955.jpg/" />)=

Since this is the last year of high school for my youngest d= aughter, I guess this is a wrap-up for me on several levels. I have rep= orted previously in this blog about the successes of our local Eastbrook High Scho= ol team, the Panthers. We had another wonderful season of victories thi= s year, again finishing the season undefeated.

Here is the wr= ap up:

54-27 Win 14- 6 Win = 42- 7 Win
08/19/2011 away Rochester (Rochester, IN)
08/26/2011 home Western (Russiaville, IN)
09/02/2011 away Frankton (Frankton, IN) = 66- 7 Win
09/09/2011 home Monroe (Alexandria, IN) = 50-25 Win
09/16/2011 away Blackford (Hartford City, IN) 57- 3 Win
09/23/2011 away Elwood (Elwood, IN) 49-2= 7 Win
09/30/2011 home Madison-Grant (Fairmount, IN) 35- 6 Win
10/07/2011 home Mississinewa (Gas City, IN)63-13 Win
10/14/2011 home Oak Hill (Converse, IN)

Our past couple of years have looked like this for win-loss records:
  • 2010 Season: 11-1
  • 2009 Season: 12-1
  • 2008 Season: 8-3
  • 2007 Season: 9-2
  • 2006 Season: 8-3
  • 2005 Season: 11-2
  • 2004 Season: 15-1

Unfortunately, what this means for the team is we reall= y don't get much practice against tougher opponents. The outcome of= this is that we do not do well in the tournaments. Keep in mind that f= or the past years' records, each season ends when we get knocked out= of the state tournament. That is, for our regular season play, you nee= d to deduct one of the losses listed for each year.

All-in-al= l, it's been great to have been an Eastbrook Panther fan for the las= t couple of years. I'm glad to have been part of it, even if it onl= y means for me sitting in the stands for some of the games.
