John Frederick Kapp is a son of Frederick Cupp who immigrated from Germany. According to the tax rolls of 1771 and 1772, Frederick Kap was in Heidelberg Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. In the tax rolls of 1779, he was listed as Frederick Cap; in 1782, it was as Frederick Kapp [Cupp-L, Matthews, Winger].
An Andrew Cupp (Copp/Capp) (b. c1740/1; d. c1801) is listed by [Cupp-L, Matthews] among the sons of this John Frederick Kapp. Im not so sure; for one thing, several sets of dates seem "off" to make this relationship work. I have moved this Andrew Kapp to be listed as a son of John Michael Kapp (#714) and Maria Margaretha "Anna" Frey. (This decision is solely mine; contact me at if you have any further input.)
